EA as a Value ADD Chain

Working with the Open Group, I have had the pleasure to work Chris Armstrong of APG.

For a piece of work we are collaborating on, we ended up describing an EA Value Chain.. with each step needing to ‘add value’ to its inputs.  This was one of those times when suddenly you could see a big step forward about to be taken in helping shape the EA world.

Not so much in the model itself but its possible use, and the way we convey the purpose of EA.

I also really liked the fact that Value Add can be written as Value ADD – or Value Architecture Definition Document in TOGAF terms…

EA is Stakeholder Assurance

I was trying to think of how to simplify what EA is into a small sentence(in defiance of previous post around Zen!)… and felt that EA is about assuring Stakeholders that what they have and what they are doing is right.  Doing the right things right as a mentor used to tell me!

 

Now all I need to do is find a way of ‘translating’ the word Stakeholder into another that starts with the letter ‘E’
